Santa Samer visits kids in Hove


Our Father Christmas has a lot of young fans in the Five Ways area of Brighton!

The 2010 collections raised £3865 despite two rounds "lost" to the snow!

The 2011 collection raised a record breaking £4,500

The 2012 collection raised a NEW record total of over £4,500. Thanks to all the good people of Brighton & Hove who contributed. Again the majority will be given to the Martlets Hospice with smaller amounts going to local charities

An Evening Concert in aid of the Martlets Hospice

This event took place at The Windmill Theatre, Blatchington Mill School,
on the 24th September 2012.
Many thanks to the artists,muscians, helpers and all those who either donated or attended.
Just over £3,300 was raised for the Martlets Hospice

 

CHARITY GOLF DAY

Our 2013 Charity Golf Day will take place on Wednesday 22nd May at The Dyke Golf Club
in conjunction with Brighton & Hove Soiree club.

The Club is pleased to announce that our Golf Day
on Thursday 26th May 2011 raised £3000 for our charity.
This will be going towards the new Cancer Support Centre at the RSCH
Thanks to all those that contributed

The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment visited for a dinner evening at The Hove Club in June.
Three soldiers gave personal accounts of their time in Afghanistan.
Over £1000 was raised for the regiment's benevolent fund.

This is the second time in recent years that "South Downs" Rotary have supported this marvellous charity

The 27th Anniversary Charter Night celebrations were at Jeremy's Restaurant,Borde Hill, Haywards Heath on Friday 8th June 2012

January 2010 - Norman Baker MP (Lewes) talks to the Club about events leading up to the Iraq war and "The Strange Death of David Kelly" which is the subject of his book. Norman travelled down from London to speak to us despite having to return again that night. He found time to answer questions and kindly offered to donate £2 to our Rotary charities for every book that we ordered. It was an incredibly interesting talk
Martin Perry, CEO Brighton & Hove Albion, gave his "What's Going Up On The Downs?" talk to the club.

Our "OPERA at ROEDEAN" concert in aid of The Martlets Hospice - Whole ensemble on stage

Sue Mileham (Soprano), Jane Money (Mezzo Soprano), Anthony Hawgood (Tenor) and Darren Jones (Baritone).

"It is anticipated that the concert will have raised around £4,000 for the Martlets"
