The Club is pleased to announce that our Golf Day
on Thursday 26th May 2011 raised £3000 for our charity.
This will be going towards the new Cancer Support Centre at the RSCH
Thanks to all those that contributed.

The golf Day raised £3,000 for the Prince's Trust the President John Woodhouse's chosen charity

 

 

Our "OPERA at ROEDEAN" concert in aid of The Martlets Hospice - Whole ensemble on stage

Sue Mileham (Soprano), Jane Money (Mezzo Soprano), Anthony Hawgood (Tenor) and Darren Jones (Baritone).

"It is anticipated that the concert will have raised around £4,000 for the Martlets"

 

 

 

The 2008 Christmas collection raised around £3,500 which will be distributed to local Sussex charities including the Martletts Hospice

The 2010 collections raised £3865 despite two rounds "lost" to the snow!

Our Father Christmas has a lot of young fans in the Five Ways area of Brighton!

District 1250 Darts Champions 2006/2007

"South Downs" darts team - winners of the District 1250 cup for 2006/2007 (for the third time in 3 years), being presented with the trophy by District Sports officer mike poulter, having beaten Caterham in the final. Capt. Ray Eggleton, John Guest, mike Wynn and David Elliott

January 2010 - Norman Baker MP (Lewes) talks to the Club about events leading up to the Iraq war and "The Strange Death of David Kelly" which is the subject of his book. Norman travelled down from London to speak to us despite having to return again that night. He found time to answer questions and kindly offered to donate £2 to our Rotary charities for every book that we ordered. It was an incredibly interesting talk
President Guy and Zamy Paterson at the 25th Anniversary Charter Night Dinner. A great evening with food, wine, music and dancing. It was enjoyed by all including several past members
Immediate Past President Guy Paterson, along with President Charles Haywood, presents cheque for £2,000 to Juliette Mcpherson the community fundraiser for the Chestnut Tree House Children's Hospice following the Golf Day in May. This is the second time in recent years that "South Downs" Rotary have supported this marvellous charity
